IDM personas

IDM has long been committed to developing accessible, reusable tools for the global health community. Looking ahead to the Gates Foundation’s 20-year sunset horizon, IDM is focused on leaving a strong modeling and analytics legacy, ensuring our tools and methods endure, scale, and benefit partners well beyond the Foundation’s lifetime.

For each of the personas described, IDM is prioritizing those in low- and middle- income countries (LMICs). It’s important for IDM to harness and grow modeling capabilities in LMIC countries via our models such that the power for decision-making shifts locally. Tools should leverage organizational strengths and fit within organizational constraints and infrastructure limitations. For example, many researchers and public health professionals may have slow or undependable internet access or limited access to AI or high-performance compute resources. Expect that they can install packages and consult documentation online, but connections may drop unexpectedly so long-running simulations that require active connections may cause challenges.
