Larvicides#

The Larvicides intervention class is a node-level intervention that configures a killing effect for larva in specific habitats. This intervention can be used to simulate the application of larvicides to water bodies.

At a glance:

  • Uses insecticides: Yes. The vector genome can be used to target specific genders.

  • Time-based expiration: No. It will continue to exist even if efficacy is zero.

  • Purge existing: No. Already existing intervention(s) of this class continue(s) to exist together with any new interventions of this class. Their efficacies combine 1-(1-prob1)*(1-prob2) etc.

  • Vector killing contributes to: Combines with competition and rainfall to kill larvae every time step.

  • Vector effects: Killing

  • Vector sexes affected: Both males and female larva

  • Vector life stage affected: Larval

Note

Parameters are case-sensitive. For Boolean parameters, set to 1 for true or 0 for false. Minimum, maximum, or default values of “NA” indicate that those values are not applicable for that parameter.

EMOD does not use true defaults; that is, if the dependency relationships indicate that a parameter is required, you must supply a value for it. However, many of the tools used to work with EMOD will use the default values provided below.

JSON format does not permit comments, but you can add “dummy” parameters to add contextual information to your files. Any keys that are not EMOD parameter names will be ignored by the model.

Habitat_Target
